Recipe : Milo Cake with Milo Chocolate Frosting - Steam ( No Bake)

Steam - Milo Cake with Milo Chocolate Frosting


The Ingredients (For Milo Cake)
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour (100gram)
  • 4 packets Milo (88 gram)
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar (150 gram)
  • 3/4 cup  Full or Fresh Milk (180 ml) 
  • 2 medium-sized Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil (60 ml)
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
The Steps
  1. Sift Flour, Milo, Baking Soda, Baking powder and Salt. Mix well. Add Milk, Eggs, Oil, Brown Sugar and Vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Line mold with baking or parchment paper. Pour the cake batter. Tap to remove bubbles. Cover with foil (for steaming)
  3. Steam for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  4. For baking, bake at 180'C for 30 to 35 minutes or do toothpick test.
  5. Once cooked, remove from molds, remove baking paper and let it cool. Set aside while making frosting

The Ingredients ( For Frosting)
  • 3 packets Milo Powder (66 gram)
  • 2 tbsp. Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup All-purpose Cream (Milk / Heavy cream)
  • 1 tsp. all purpose Flour (to Thicken the frosting)
  • 1 tbsp. butter (or Margarine)
  • pinch of Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract (optional)
  • sugar as needed (OPTIONAL) (I added 1/4 cup
The Steps
  1. In a pot, sift Milo, Cocoa powder, Flour and Salt. 
  2. Then add all purpose cream. Stir and mix well until all powder is dissolved. 
  3. Taste for sweetness. Add sugar as needed. Then cook in low heat until thick while stirring continuously.
  4. Once the frosting thickened, turn off heat then add butter and vanilla extract. 
  5. Stir until butter melted and become smooth.
  6. Frost your cake however you like. I added some chocolate chips or chocolate rice.
